Jeremy instructed in two major fraud cases

Jeremy has recently been instructed in two major fraud cases. 

The first is an interesting case at Nottingham Crown Court involving the importation of tobacco, where HMRC allege that £8m of excise duty was avoided. The case centres on allegations concerning the importation of threshing machines which can be used for various purposes. Issues relating to the importation of snuff and shisha.

The second is an allegation of conspiracy to commit fraud at Middlesborough Crown Court, in relation to the obtaining of 39 properties where approximately £1.5m was raised from various lending insitutions. The prosecution rely upon the SRA code and the CML handbook in respect of other co defendant's conduct.
