Mini Stern Review ‘Economics of Low Carbon Cities’ Report Released
Professor Andy Gouldson of Leeds University and Jon Price of the Centre for Low Carbon Futures will publish their groundbreaking research on the potential for commercially viable, energy efficient, low carbon cities to the All Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group on Thursday 12th January.
Cities currently spend around 10% of their GDP on their annual energy bill – and this is increasing every year. Are there cost effective ways of cutting their energy bill whilst also enhancing competitiveness and creating employment? If so, what are the most cost and carbon effective options, how much do they cost and how quickly would they pay back? Is the business case strong enough to attract major investments? And if we made these investments by how much could we cut city scale carbon emissions?√جª¬ø
